Winner Takes It All was written by Giorgio Moroder and Tom Whitlock and performed by Sammy Hagar for the soundtrack to Over the Top, released in 1987. The film stars Sylvester Stallone as a truck driver competing in arm wrestling, and the song plays as its motivational theme. Its chorus later found a second life online, where short clips are shared on soundboards and reused in edits celebrating wins, comebacks and contest results, keeping the 80s rock hook recognisable decades after the film.

This is a short excerpt from Winner Takes It All, the Sammy Hagar rock anthem written for the 1987 arm wrestling film Over the Top. The clip captures the big, soaring chorus, with driving guitars and Hagar's powerful vocal pushing the title line. It sounds confident, dramatic and unmistakably 80s, built for a moment when someone has beaten the odds. Played over a win, a comeback or a final result, it turns an ordinary success into a cinematic triumph and gives the viewer an instant sense of closure and celebration.
