The meme grew inside the osu rhythm game community, where pp is the performance points system used to rank plays. The number 727 became a running joke after it was linked to a famous Cookiezi play on Blue Zenith, and players began writing WYSI, short for when you see it, whenever the number cropped up again. Twitch chat, YouTube highlights and Discord servers spread the shorthand beyond osu, turning a single score value into a shared callout that still appears whenever 727 shows up in new plays.
About this sound
The WYSI sound is an osu meme clip tied to the number 727 and Cookiezi, used in gaming edits when players spot that famous score in a play online.
WYSI is short for when you see it, and in the osu community it is inseparably linked to the number 727. This clip builds on that in-joke, landing as a drawn-out, excited vocal reaction that repeats the recognition moment when 727 appears as a score, pp value or combo reference. The delivery feels sudden and gleeful, like a chat message turned into audio, which makes the number itself feel like the punchline. For viewers who know the meme it triggers instant recognition, while for outsiders it plays as a random, over-the-top celebration of a seemingly ordinary number.
