Eddsworld is a British animated comedy web series created by Edd Gould that built a large online following through short, fast-paced episodes featuring Edd and his friends. Fans label this clip the old scream to distinguish it from newer scream effects used in later episodes and fan animations, and the sound has been reused in edits, memes and reaction videos that borrow the series' chaotic humour. As a Scream meme, it survives because it is short, instantly recognisable to longtime viewers, and easy to drop into a fail or shock moment without any setup.

The classic old scream sound from Eddsworld, a sharp cartoon yell used in early episodes and fan edits for sudden shocks, fails and comedic panic moments.
This is a short, high-pitched cartoon scream associated with the early Eddsworld animations, lasting just over five seconds. It starts abruptly, rises in a frantic, wavering yell, and holds a panicked tone before cutting off, giving it the feel of a character reacting to something sudden and absurd. The sound is raw and exaggerated rather than realistic, which makes it instantly readable as comedy rather than horror. In a video it creates an immediate jolt, turning a fall, a jump scare, or an unexpected reveal into a punchline and signalling to viewers that the moment is meant to be laughed at, not feared.
