Game Grumps is the long running YouTube lets play series hosted by Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan, known for improvised commentary while playing retro games. This clip comes from their play of Mickey Mousecapade, the 1987 NES platformer starring Mickey Mouse, where chests and keys are part of the level progression. Fans clipped the chest moment because the complaint works outside the game itself. It has since circulated as a standalone reaction on soundboards and in edited videos, used whenever a design choice, rule or real life process feels completely reversed.

Game Grumps ass-backwards clip from their Mickey Mousecapade playthrough, ranting about opening a treasure chest to get a key. Used for backwards game logic.
This is a short Game Grumps outburst recorded during a Mickey Mousecapade session, reacting to a treasure chest that contains a key instead of real loot. The line starts as a mildly annoyed observation about Mickey Mouse and the chest, then builds quickly into a loud, incredulous shout on the words ass-backwards. The sudden jump in volume and disbelief is what makes it land, turning a tiny piece of confusing level design into a full rant. Played without context, it still reads instantly as someone staring at a game doing the exact opposite of what makes sense.
