Half-Life was released by Valve in 1998 and set most of its story inside the Black Mesa Research Facility, where automated announcements and warning tones punctuated the disaster that drives the plot. The hl1 warning clip comes from that soundscape and survived long after the game through mods, machinima, and soundboards shared by fans. Its clean, official tone made it easy to reuse outside the game as a universal danger cue, so creators still borrow it for parodies, gaming videos, and retro sci-fi edits today.
