The clip is tied to Nimona, the 2023 Netflix animated film adapted from ND Stevenson's graphic novel, where the shapeshifting title character's love of chaos made her an instant meme favorite. Short voice lines from the film were ripped and re-uploaded as meme audios, and this gleeful 'murder 'em' delivery joined the canon of over-the-top villain memes like Darth Vader NOOOOOOOOO! It pairs naturally with narration such as It was at this moment he knew, marking the second a plan turns sinister. At just six seconds it slots into any fast-paced edit.

A gleeful voice clip of Nimona saying 'murder 'em' from the 2023 animated film, used in comedic villain-threat memes, revenge edits and chaos edits on TikTok.
The clip is a six-second burst of pure cartoon menace: a gleeful, high-energy young voice stretches out the word murder before landing on a sharp 'em, delivering the whole line like an invitation to mischief rather than a threat. The cheerfulness is the joke — it sounds like someone planning a surprise party, not a crime, and that contrast gives the audio its punch. Dropped over a villain origin edit or a petty-grudge meme, it turns the subject into a tiny unhinged mastermind and makes the audience laugh at how happily violent it sounds.
