The clip centres on Darth Vader, the masked villain of Star Wars, whose deep, electronically filtered voice has made him one of the most quoted characters in film. Short Vader reactions have circulated for years on soundboards, TikTok, and YouTube edits, where a single word can carry the whole joke. This nuh uh version works because it borrows that authority for something deliberately childish, turning a formal denial into a meme. Creators keep returning to it for quick rebuttals, especially in Star Wars edits and reaction videos, where audiences recognise the voice instantly.

A short Darth Vader nuh uh sound effect from Star Wars, used in memes and videos to firmly deny a claim, joke, or bad take with a deep, dismissive voice.
This is a one-second clip of Darth Vader delivering a blunt, drawn-out 'nuh uh' in his deep, mechanical voice, with the breathing and vocal distortion that make him instantly recognisable. It is not a long speech or a dramatic monologue, just a quick denial that lands like a door closing. The humour comes from the contrast: one of cinema's most feared villains using playground language to reject something outright. Played over a video, it turns a weak argument, a bad idea, or an unwanted suggestion into something Vader himself has vetoed, and the audience hears the refusal before they even process the joke.
