The moment comes from a 1992 Metallica live performance of Seek And Destroy, where bassist Jason Newsted's mistake during the intro left James Hetfield visibly frustrated. The extended searching section and explosive scream were clipped from bootleg footage and later circulated on video sites and soundboards as a classic metal fail. Fans share it less as a perfect performance and more as a human, unscripted snapshot of a huge band unraveling briefly on stage, which keeps it popular in rock and meme communities.

Metallica frontman James Hetfield screams during a botched Seek And Destroy intro in 1992, now used as a loud reaction and fail sound effect online
This clip captures James Hetfield losing his patience on stage during a messy start to Seek And Destroy in 1992. After a drawn out searching pause, he unleashes a raw, distorted WRUAAAAGHHHHH scream that tears through the live mix. It is not polished singing, it is frustration turned into pure metal noise. The long build makes the outburst hit harder, turning an awkward mistake into a moment of chaotic energy that feels both funny and aggressive to listeners hearing it out of context.
