Fox McCloud is the leader of the Star Fox team in Nintendo's Star Fox series, which began in 1993, and he later became a staple fighter in Super Smash Bros. His short vocal attacks, including this Hiyaaa shout, were widely sampled from gameplay and shared on soundboards and in meme edits. Because Fox is known for speed and aggressive rushdown play, the cry became shorthand online for a sudden attack, and it remains popular with Nintendo and fighting game fans.

Fox McCloud's short Hiyaaa yell from Star Fox, a sharp battle cry used in gaming edits, memes and reaction videos for attacks and power moves.
This is Fox McCloud's iconic Hiyaaa battle cry, a very short and punchy vocal burst lasting less than a second. The sound is high energy and slightly strained, like a martial arts shout timed to a fast strike or dash. It cuts through music and gameplay audio instantly because of its sharp attack and familiar Nintendo tone. Viewers recognise it immediately as confident and aggressive rather than fearful, which makes even a simple jump, punch or dodge feel dramatic and heroic in an edit.
