Dumb and Dumber is a 1994 American comedy film starring Jim Carrey as Lloyd Christmas and Jeff Daniels as Harry Dunne, and its trailers have long been reused online as sources for short reaction clips. This alarm snippet circulated mainly as a phone ringtone, credited to Ringtone Maker in its file metadata, before being uploaded to soundboards as a quick meme effect. Its lasting appeal is simple timing: a familiar movie name attached to an instantly recognisable alert tone that creators can drop into almost any funny emergency scene.
About this sound
Short alarm sound from the Dumb and Dumber 1994 trailer, used as a ringtone and meme alert for funny wake up moments and sudden reaction edits.
This is a very brief alarm clip lifted from the Dumb and Dumber trailer presentation, lasting just over a second. It hits as a sharp, urgent beeping tone that cuts in instantly with no build up, similar to a digital alarm clock or warning buzzer. Because it is so short and piercing, it works as a punchline rather than background sound. Placed over a sleeping face, a shocked expression or a sudden mistake, it instantly signals panic, urgency and comic overreaction, making an ordinary moment feel like an emergency.
