Nyan Cat began as a 2011 YouTube video pairing a pixel cat with a Pop-Tart body flying through space to a catchy vocaloid song, and it quickly became one of the defining memes of that era. This sound borrows the structure of the John Cena meme, where a dramatic announcement builds to an unexpected entrance. By replacing that payoff with the Nyan Cat tune, creators combine two well known internet references in a few seconds, which explains why the clip still works for quick reveals and nostalgic edits.
About this sound
A meme mashup that swaps the John Cena reveal for Nyan Cat, used for surprise entrances, joke introductions and silly pop culture edits online.
This clip combines a dramatic announcer style introduction with the bright, looping chiptune melody of Nyan Cat. A voice builds the moment like a wrestling entrance, then the familiar rainbow cat tune takes over instead of the expected payoff. The contrast between the serious delivery and the cheerful, repetitive music makes the reveal feel absurd and instantly recognisable. It is short enough to land as a punchline without explanation, and the sudden switch catches viewers off guard, turning an ordinary introduction into a nostalgic internet joke.
