Best Mates began as a dance emote in Fortnite Battle Royale, performed as a cheerful synchronised routine for duos. Because it was tied to an early Battle Pass, many later players never had the chance to unlock it, which turned the emote into a running joke about wanting what you missed. Like the Fortnite default dance, its clips spread through gaming videos, montages and social posts, where the sound alone now stands for close teammates, playful celebrations and nostalgia for Fortnite's earlier seasons.
About this sound
The Best Mates sound is the upbeat dance music from the Fortnite emote, used in gaming edits and memes to celebrate friendship and a fun victory moment.
This is the looping music and rhythm behind the Best Mates dance emote from Fortnite, a goofy side-to-side celebration performed by two characters in sync. The track is bright, bouncy and instantly cheerful, with a simple beat that makes even a stiff game avatar look like it is having the time of its life. Hearing it instantly signals friendship and shared silliness rather than competition. Viewers recognise the mood straight away, which is why the clip works as a light-hearted reaction, a victory celebration or a joke about finally teaming up with a close friend online.
