There is no single film, game or creator behind this clip, so it is best understood as a piece of internet prank audio rather than a quote from a known work. Short scream sounds have long circulated on soundboards and in voice chats, where Discord made them easy to drop into a call at exactly the wrong moment. This version follows that same pattern, offering a compact scare that needs no context to work. Its popularity comes from that simplicity, since anyone can use it to interrupt a quiet conversation with an instant jolt.
About this sound
A sudden Discord jump scare sound built around a loud scream, perfect for startling friends in voice chats, reaction videos and prank edits.
This short clip is designed to catch listeners completely off guard. It opens quietly enough to lower expectations, then hits with a sudden, high-pitched scream that fills the whole two-and-a-half seconds. The scream is raw and panicked, with no music or dialogue to soften it, so it lands as a pure shock rather than a joke with a punchline. Played at full volume in a headset, it makes people flinch, jump, or laugh nervously a second later. That instant jolt is the whole point, and it works best when the listener has no warning that anything loud is coming.
