Hukus Bukus is a traditional Kashmiri folk lullaby that was brought to a wider audience by Mohit Chauhan's rendition, featured in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 2020 film Shikara. The song's gentle melody and poetic Kashmiri lyrics made it a favourite across short-video platforms, where creators paired it with travel footage, childhood memories and scenes of Kashmir. Years after its film release, the tune still circulates as a shorthand for nostalgia and quiet longing in emotional edits.
About this sound
A snippet of the Kashmiri folk song Hukus Bukus, sung by Mohit Chauhan. Creators use this lilting tune for emotional reels, travel edits and nostalgic moments.
The Hukus Bukus clip is a short, haunting excerpt of the beloved Kashmiri folk lullaby, sung in a soft male voice with a slow, swaying rhythm. The melody feels both melancholic and comforting, like a half-remembered song from childhood, with the singer's warm tone carrying each note gently upward. Because it lasts only a few seconds, it works as an emotional accent rather than a full song, instantly giving a video a dreamy, nostalgic mood. Listeners often describe it as soothing and bittersweet, which is why it keeps appearing in quiet, reflective edits across social platforms.
