Moto Moto appears in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, released in 2008, where the hippo is voiced by will.i.am and performs this song as his memorable introduction. The scene was built as a parody of a smooth ladies man entrance, and the big and chunky hook became the part audiences quoted most. Clips of the moment later spread on YouTube and social media as a reaction to confident, flirtatious or oversized characters, keeping the short musical excerpt in regular meme use long after the film.
About this sound
The Moto Moto song from Madagascar 2, featuring the hippo singing about liking them big and chunky, used in memes and funny character edits.
This is the short musical moment where Moto Moto, the confident hippo from Madagascar 2, introduces himself with a smooth, swaggering song. His deep voice rides over a bouncy beat as he sings about liking them big and chunky, turning a simple character entrance into a bold, flirtatious joke. The delivery is laid back but full of self assurance, with the rhythm making it instantly catchy. Viewers remember the contrast between his huge, charming presence and the playful lyrics, which makes the clip feel funny even without the full scene for context.
