About this sound

Neco Arc's chaotic hyeta laugh from Melty Blood, used in meme edits and reaction videos to add playful, unhinged energy to funny clips online.

The hyeta sound is a short burst of high-pitched, mischievous laughter from Neco Arc, the chaotic cat-like mascot from Melty Blood and Tsukihime. It starts as a squeaky giggle and quickly builds into a rapid, almost unhinged cackle, with each hyeta syllable bouncing off the last. The voice is playful rather than scary, sounding like a tiny trickster who knows exactly what chaos she has just caused. Because it is so distinctive and instantly recognisable, dropping it over a clip makes an ordinary moment feel absurd, silly and deliberately over the top.

Pro tip

Place hyeta right on the reveal or punchline, not during setup, and cut it after one burst so the laugh lands without dragging. Pair it with a zoom or chaotic entrance, and avoid layering it under dialogue because its high pitch will clash with speech.

How people use it

Creators play it when a character suddenly causes chaos.
Editors use it to mock a failed plan.
Streamers drop it after an unexpected funny death.
Meme makers pair it with a silly cat edit.

Because the laugh is short, instantly recognisable and easy to drop over almost any visual gag, it has stayed popular long after its first viral edits.
