Martin Tyler is a long-serving English football commentator best known for his Premier League coverage, where his measured build-up often gives way to an explosive reaction when a goal is scored. Clips of those reactions have long circulated among football fans, who lift the most joyful calls for highlight reels, reaction videos and football memes. This 'Oh yesss' moment fits that tradition perfectly, because it needs no context to be understood. Even listeners who cannot name the match recognise the sound of a huge goal, which keeps it useful for creators long after the original broadcast.

The clip captures veteran football commentator Martin Tyler at his most animated, stretching a delighted 'Oh yesss' into a rising, breathless celebration as a goal goes in. His voice climbs in pitch and volume, carrying the surprise, relief and pure joy of a big moment, with the roar of the crowd swelling underneath him. It sounds spontaneous rather than rehearsed, like a fan who just happens to have a microphone, which is why it lands so instantly.
