Pintinho Piu is the Brazilian Portuguese version of Il Pulcino Pio, the Italian novelty song that went viral on YouTube and radio in 2012 with its endless list of farm animal sounds. The Portuguese adaptation kept the same cumulative structure, adding a hen, rooster, turkey and more after the chick's piu piu opening. Its simple repetition made it a huge hit with children and a favourite for parodies and remixes in Brazil, and short clips of the opening chirp still circulate as a standalone meme sound.
About this sound
Short piu piu chirp from the Brazilian Pintinho Piu children's song, used as a cute baby chick sound effect in memes and funny animal videos.
This is the instantly recognisable piu piu hook from Pintinho Piu, the Brazilian version of the cumulative children's song about a farm full of noisy animals. The clip isolates the baby chick's high pitched chirping refrain, delivered in a bouncy sing song rhythm that repeats and sticks in your head. It sounds sweet and slightly silly rather than realistic, which is why it works so well as a punchline. Dropped over a tiny animal, a confused character or a small object appearing on screen, it instantly signals something cute, helpless and funny without needing any explanation.
