This scream comes from a mushroom hunter video that was clipped and shared as a short standalone sound, rather than from a film, game or television show. Once separated from its original footage, it found a second life in prank videos, reaction edits and horror-themed shorts, where a brief human scream works better than a longer, more polished effect. Its appeal is similar to a shocked sound for sudden reveals and to the FNAF 2 scream for jump-scare timing, which is why creators keep returning to it for quick, unmistakable fright.
About this sound
A sudden, high-pitched scary scream taken from a mushroom hunter video, perfect for jump scares, prank reactions and horror edits that need an instant fright.
This is a short, sharp scream that bursts in without warning and holds for just over four seconds, rising quickly to a panicked, comical pitch before cutting off abruptly. It sounds like someone stumbling into something terrifying in the woods, which gives it both a fright and an absurd edge that works well in pranks. Played over a scene, it snaps viewers to attention, makes them flinch, then laugh once they realise the scare was staged. Its brevity means it lands as a punchline rather than a sustained horror moment, ideal for startling a friend, punctuating a failed jump scare, or adding a jolt to a reaction clip.
