Wonder Pets! is an American animated children's television series that premiered on Nickelodeon in 2006, following three classroom pets who work together to help animals in trouble. Its theme song begins with the repeated line about the phone ringing, signalling that a new rescue is about to begin. Years after the show ended, that opening became a familiar nostalgic cue online, shared in throwback edits, memes and short videos whenever someone wants an instantly recognisable signal that help is needed.
About this sound
The Wonder Pets theme song opening where the team sings that the phone is ringing, used in nostalgic edits and memes about a quick call for help.
It opens with the bright, singalong call from the Wonder Pets theme song, announcing that the phone is ringing and an animal somewhere needs help. The classroom pets are ready to save the day. The cheerful children's television melody and clear group vocals make it instantly recognisable to anyone who watched the Nickelodeon show, even years later. It sounds warm, upbeat and a little urgent, like the start of a small rescue mission, and it usually triggers a smile before the joke or edit even begins.
