Waluigi first appeared in Mario Tennis in 2000 as Wario's doubles partner and a rival to Luigi, created to give Wario a counterpart in Nintendo's Mario spin off games. Voiced for many years by Charles Martinet, the character became known for his lanky design, purple outfit, mischievous cackling and drawn out vocalisations. Online, clips of his yells were isolated for soundboards and edits, where the elongated name call summed up his theatrical, attention seeking personality. It remains popular in gaming memes because it is instantly recognisable even without any visuals.
About this sound
A stretched Waluigi yell from the Mario games, with the character shouting his own name in his nasally voice. Used for chaotic gaming edits and meme reactions.
This is Waluigi loudly dragging out his own name in one long, whiny yell, starting sharp and getting more strained as the vowels stretch. The voice is high, nasal and theatrical, exactly the over the top energy the lanky Mario rival is known for. It lasts just under three seconds, long enough to feel ridiculous without outstaying its welcome. Played over a clip it instantly signals mischief, bragging or a dramatic entrance gone wrong, and the sheer length of the scream makes even a simple moment feel chaotic and funny.
