WRYYYY comes from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, where vampire villain DIO Brando lets out the cry during fights, most famously in Stardust Crusaders. The line was popularised by the 1990s OVA, the Capcom fighting game, and later the 2014 anime adaptation, then spread online as a classic scream meme. Fans paired the audio with other characters posing, shouting, or stopping time, turning a serious battle moment into a shorthand for DIO references, JoJo posing culture, and over-the-top anime villain energy that non-fans also recognise instantly.
About this sound
The iconic WRYYYY scream by DIO from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, a drawn-out villainous yell used in anime edits and meme videos for dramatic rage.
WRYYYY is DIO's signature battle cry, a long, strained scream that stretches the rolled R into a vibrating roar. In the clip the voice cracks upward with theatrical intensity, sounding less like pain and more like pure, unhinged fury and triumph. It lasts only a few seconds but feels huge because of how hard the delivery is pushed. Viewers instantly read it as a villain losing control or celebrating overwhelming power, which is why the sound lands as both threatening and absurdly funny when dropped into an unrelated scene.
