Xena's scream comes from Xena: Warrior Princess, the 1990s fantasy television series starring Lucy Lawless as the warrior hero. Her distinctive ululating battle cry became one of the show's most recognisable sounds, repeated in fight scenes whenever she charged into battle. As clips circulated online, fans lifted the cry for memes, edits and reaction videos, where it now signals fearless energy rather than just a television fight. Its short length and instantly recognisable tone keep it useful for creators today.
About this sound
A fierce battle scream from Xena: Warrior Princess, a sharp, high-pitched yell used in reaction videos and memes for dramatic shock or frustration.
The clip captures Xena letting out a long, piercing battle cry that rises sharply and holds its intensity before cutting off abruptly. It sounds raw and urgent, more like a warrior charging into a fight than a scream of fear, with a raspy edge that makes it feel larger than life. Played over a video, it instantly raises the stakes, turning a small mishap, a bold entrance or a moment of defiance into something epic and funny at the same time.
