Hajimi comes from hachimi, the honey song performed in Uma Musume Pretty Derby, where the horse girl Tokai Teio sings happily about a honey drink. Online listeners heard the Japanese word as hajimi, and that mishearing spread across Bilibili, Douyin and TikTok from 2023 as a standalone meme. Creators began pairing the chant with spinning, staring and running cats, so the word became shorthand for a cute animal losing control. The clip still circulates because the tune is instantly recognisable and works without any context from the original scene.
About this sound
The Hajimi meme song is a cute looping chant from Uma Musume that became a viral cat clip, used for silly, spinning and chaotic cute edits.
This is the looping Hajimi chant, a high pitched, sing-song refrain built around the repeated word hajimi sung in a bright anime voice over a bouncy backing track. The melody is simple and deliberately ear-worming, cycling the same sweet phrase until it turns hypnotic and a little absurd. That contrast is the effect: an innocent, honey-sweet delivery paired with fast spins, blank cat stares or frantic movement makes an ordinary clip feel manic and cute at once. Listeners recognise the tune in a second, and the repetition builds comic tension the longer it plays underneath the action.
